Background on Event
On April 28, 2012 the UW Athletic Department and the UW Center for Nonprofits* will partner on the UW Spring Football Game. The proceeds for the game will benefit the UW Center for Nonprofits new student internship program. The program is designed to support UW students who intern in nonprofit organizations. Demand for UW student interns is significant and growing, but many nonprofit organizations do not have the financial capacity to support students (stipends, travel expenses, etc.). The fund developed from the ticket sales of the game will launch a program that will place UW students in nonprofit organizations, providing the students with critical practicum experiences while also benefitting the exponentially expanding nonprofit sector with next generation talent.
Community centers across Dane County are partnering with the UW Center for Nonprofits to bring children and families to the game. For more information on how you can help that effort, contact Jeanan Yasiri at yasiri@wisc.edu.
